공주시는 예부터 유구한 역사문화자원을 가지고 있지만, 최근 세종시의 출범과 지방쇠퇴 등의 주변여건 변화에 따라 인구유출과 난개발의 과정 속에 있는 도시이다. 이에 따라 공주시는 공간환경전략계획을 수립하여 공간에 대한 기본방향을 제시하였다.

이에, 공주시의 전체에 대한 GIS 분석과 현장 조사를 바탕으로, 공간 관리의 전략적 방향과 미래 발전 방향을 모색하였다. 특히, '택리지'에서는 공주시가 가장 살기 좋은 도시로 소개되고 있다. 이를 재조명하여, 주거 인프라부터 시작해 공공 인프라, 교통 인프라 등에 이르는 공간에 대한 기본 방향 및 세부 사업을 수립하였다.

Gongju has a long history and cultural resources, but it is in the process of population outflow and reckless development due to changes in surrounding conditions such as the recent establishment of Sejong City and the decline of the provinces. Accordingly, the city of Gongju established a spatial environment strategy plan and presented the basic direction for the space.

By combining GIS analysis of the entire city of Gongju with field surveys, the strategy of space management and future development directions were devised. In particular, Gongju is introduced as the most livable city in 'Taekriji'. So, by re-illuminating the elements in 'Taekriji'', the basic directions and detailed projects for the space were established from residential infrastructure to public infrastructure and transportation infrastructure.
