본 프로젝트는 경복궁서측 도시재생사업의 일환으로, 지역 고유의 정체성을 반영한 디자인 가이드라인을 수립하고 그와 부합하는 골목길 경관개선 사업을 계획하였다. 경복궁서측 도시재생 활성화계획 수립 시 조사된 경관사업 대상지를 중심으로 골목길 경관과 개별주택 입면의 개선 계획 및 설계를 실시하였다.

디자인 가이드라인을 통해 한옥·비한옥 및 주민·방문객에 따라 경복궁서측의 9개 골목길을 3개 유형으로 분류하였고, 각 유형이 추구해야 할 정체성과 경관요소를 도출하였다. 경관개선사업에 배정된 예산에 따라 골목길 4개소를 선정하고 주민들과 협력하여 개별주택 39곳의 입면개선 및 골목길 1곳의 보도정비 실시설계를 수행하였다.

As a part of the urban regeneration project on the west-Gyeongbokgung, this project established design guidelines that reflect the unique identity of the region and planned an alleyway landscape improvement project in line with the guidelines. Improvement plans and designs for alleyway landscapes and individual house facades were implemented centered on the target sites investigated in the urban regeneration plan.

Through design guidelines, we classified the nine alleys on the region into three types based on hanok/non-hanok and residents/visitors, and derived the identity and landscape elements that each type should pursue. Based on the budget allocated for the project, we selected four alleyways and, in cooperation with residents, carried out detailed designs for improving the facades of 39 individual houses and paving of one alleyway.
