공주는 유네스코 세계유산도시로서 국내외 많은 관광객을 끌어들이고 있으나 보행환경에 대한 고려가 부족하다. 이 프로젝트는 보행로의 안전성과 쾌적성 및 역사적 맥락을 고려한 디자인을 개발하여 시민에게 편의를 제공하고 도시 이미지와 활력을 부여하는데 있다. 보행로 디자인을 계획할 때 가로의 역사적 맥락과 토지이용 및 입면을 고려한 패턴디자인을 고려하고 무령왕릉 벽돌과 연와무늬 디자인을 기본 모티프로 하고 공주시의 색상을 적용하였다. 토지이용에 따른 가로의 성격과 보도폭을 고려하여 맥락별 보행로 가이드라인 디자인(안)을 도출하였다. 또한 보행로의 기능별 요소로서 보행성, 안전성, 스트리트퍼니처에 관한 세부 디자인을 개발하여 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 보행 환경이 이루어질 수 있도록 계획하였다.

Gongju, as a UNESCO World Heritage City, attracts many tourists from both domestic and international areas. However, there is a lack of consideration for pedestrian environments. This project aims to provide convenience to citizens, enhance the city's image and vitality by developing designs that prioritize the safety, pleasantness, and historical context of pedestrian paths. When planning the design of pedestrian paths, historical context, land use, and facade patterns were taken into consideration, using the brick and lotus pattern design of the King Muryeong's Tomb as the basic motif and applying Gongju City's colors. Based on the land use and the character of each context, guidelines for pedestrian paths were derived. Furthermore, detailed designs were developed for pedestrian functionality, safety, and street furniture to create a safer and more pleasant pedestrian environment.
